Neo-Eco is a leading EU consultant in circular economy solutions, having operated for over 16 years with hundreds of projects completed successfully around the world.
Neo-Eco employs a unique toolkit of patented and open source processes to recycle industrial, construction, and household waste into market-ready materials that can be reinjected locally for a profit. Furthermore, Neo-Eco's work ensures that CO2 emissions are drastically reduced on a micro-, meso-, and macroeconomic scale.
Interesting projects include the expansion of the Paris Metro, infrastructure support for the Paris Olympics, and multi-faceted responses to civic and humanitarian disasters, such as the 2020 Beirut port explosion, the 2023 Turkiye-Syria earthquake, and the ongoing war in Ukraine.
What Neo-Eco wanted help with
Launch a capacity training program for urban planning in Ukraine
Based on my previous experience working in real estate marketing, product management for urban planning software, economic development, and creating training programs, we decided to launch an urban planning program to help Ukraine's smaller towns and cities to build back better.
Expand Neo-Eco's impact to additional countries
Neo-Eco had already begun to expand the reach of its services around the world, but company leadership wanted to further accelerate the adoption of circular economy practices in more countries.
Fundraise for Neo-Eco's portfolio of startup spinoffs
Neo-Eco consistently develops innovative solutions to real-world problems, and sometimes these breakthroughs result in patents that are spun off as their own startup companies. Company leadership wanted help in fundraising for these ventures, using a combination of debt, equity, and grants.

The company is comfortable working in emerging markets, but these environments require specialized skill sets: navigating the bureaucracy of international development organizations, complicated business processes, and unique funding challenges.
Progress
Urban Planning in Ukraine
The program's structure was created following internal working sessions and external input from multiple urban planners and economic development specialists.
Partnerships were signed with leading urban planning organizations - both within and outside of Ukraine.
Work is now underway in Mykolaiv to help rural communities rebuild according to the environmentally and socially positive principles of new urbanism.

International Development: Ukraine
Team efforts have resulted in attendance at top development conferences like Rebuild Ukraine and expanded opportunities with international financial institutions, EU funding mechanisms, regional development agencies, and private businesspeople.
One secured news article attracted over 35,000 unique page views and high engagement amongst highly targeted audiences.
Other secured media has been picked up by world leading international industry outlets and has impacted on-the-ground socio-political developments in Ukraine.
International Development: Around the World
I've continued to build on initial beachheads that were already established in international markets while also leading the charge in completely new ones.
To do so, I've been working closely with regional and national development agencies, as well as directly with mayors and executive leadership for cities with over 1M inhabitants.
I've also continued to represent Neo-Eco in key events, such as a family office event I organized in Madrid, and the ICLEI World Congress in São Paulo.
